Trick or Treat New Albany 2026

New Albany's Trick-or-Treat celebration is happening on Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m., and it will take place rain or shine. The city rescheduled the event to this date based on community input and to align with regional recommendations, making it easier for families to plan ahead each year. Whether your kids are seasoned trick-or-treaters or heading out for the first time, this is a great opportunity for neighborhood fun. To keep everyone safe and comfortable, consider a few practical tips: dress kids in weather-appropriate costumes with reflective elements for visibility, and bring flashlights for both safety and to help others see your group. Remind children to walk (not run) between houses, use crosswalks, and never enter a home—treats should only be accepted at doorways. Parents should inspect all candy for tampering or choking hazards before kids eat anything. If you're staying home and not participating, turning off your porch lights lets neighbors know. Drivers should move slowly through residential areas and stay extra alert for pedestrians.
