Step back in time at a President Grant celebration with period music, expert speakers, and living history.
Step into American history at this two-day celebration dedicated to President Ulysses S. Grant. On Saturday, you'll experience a full day of presentations featuring period music, educational talks from historians and museum experts, and even a costumed portrayal of Grant himself. Topics range from Grant's personal life and courtship to his presidency and world travels. There's a lunch break midday, and the event wraps up with an evening reception at the Grant Memorial Building. Admission is $10 per person.
On Sunday, the focus shifts to Grant's roots in the local area, with free access to his birthplace, boyhood home, school, and tannery—all open to visitors. If you'd like to attend the Sunday museum portion and reception, free admission requires an RSVP by October 1st. This event works well for history enthusiasts of all ages, from curious kids learning about Ohio's presidential heritage to adults interested in deeper dives into Grant's life and legacy.
