The “Eat the Rainbow” Garden Pizza Challenge

Your fourth, fifth, or sixth grader will spend an afternoon becoming a real chef in this interactive cooking class. Students will learn to stretch pizza dough from scratch, practice proper knife techniques using child-safe tools, and build their own gourmet personal pizza. The fun twist? They'll create colorful pizzas using at least four different colored fresh vegetables—discovering how the natural nutrients in different-colored foods give our bodies energy and help our brains work better. The class combines hands-on cooking with food education through trivia and an interactive topping station where kids can explore the "superpowers" of the foods they're using. At the end, each student takes home their own creation to enjoy. The session runs for an hour and a half at the Philip Heit Center Demo Kitchen. Registration is $45 per student.
