Semiquicentenial Celebration – Pre-Declaration Party
Pre-Independence Day celebration at Rose Run Park with family fun.
Celebrate America's founding with a festive evening designed for the whole family at Rose Run Park. The party kicks off with complimentary ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, and popsicles for the first 1,000 arrivals—so arriving early means staying cool while you explore. Throughout the evening, kids and families can enjoy hula hoops, light-up toys, and other festive activities scattered across the park. A strolling barbershop quartet will serenade guests with classic American songs, setting a patriotic mood as the sun sets.
If your family enjoys a friendly challenge, sign up at the City of New Albany information tent (starting at 6 p.m.) for the Pie Eating Contest, Preamble of the Constitution Contest, or to cheer on riders competing in the Paul Revere Horse Race. The New Albany Symphony takes the stage at the Hinson Amphitheater to provide live music, and the evening concludes with a spectacular drone show at 9:45 p.m. This is free admission, making it an accessible way to celebrate summer and history together.
