Presidential History Book Club

Presidential History Book Club in Columbus

Join a monthly gathering dedicated to exploring American presidential history and the broader historical context that shaped the nation. Held at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, this book club meets for an hour each month to discuss carefully selected titles. Each book typically receives two meetings—one for initial discussion and another for continuation—allowing participants to dive deeper into the material. Curators and educators from the museum lead the conversations, and the club occasionally hosts guest speakers and authors to enhance the discussion. Attendance is completely free, and you have flexibility in how you participate. Whether you prefer an in-person experience in the museum auditorium or joining remotely via video conference, the club welcomes both formats. The group meets from noon to 1 p.m., so you're welcome to bring lunch if you'd like. The 2026 lineup includes titles ranging from Irish immigration history to biographies of founding figures like George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. This is an excellent fit for history enthusiasts of all ages who want to engage with thoughtful conversation in a welcoming community setting.
