Poindexter Village Artifact Share

Bring your family history to life at this special community gathering! Ohio History Connection is building the Poindexter Village African American Museum, opening in early 2028, and they want to hear from you. If your family has items connected to life in Poindexter Village—whether everyday household objects from apartments or pieces tied to local businesses and community activities—this is your chance to share those stories with museum curators. The process is straightforward and family-friendly: you'll meet with museum professionals who will help document your artifacts and record their significance. The best part? Everything stays with you. There's no cost to participate, and you'll be contributing directly to preserving an important part of Columbus's African American heritage. It's a meaningful way to be part of something bigger while keeping your family's memories intact.
