Meet and Make: Collage Journaling - Color Stories
Relaxed collage journaling workshop exploring color and emotions at the Carnegie Library.
Join a relaxed, hands-on workshop where you'll create pages in a journal or sketchbook using collage techniques. Through magazines, paper scraps, and other simple materials, you'll explore how colors work together to set a mood and tell a visual story. The first session focuses on playing with different hues, contrasts, and color combinations to see how they evoke emotion and memory. In the second session, you'll tackle optional creative prompts exploring themes like "control versus chaos," "your younger self," and "pieces of identity." No artistic background required—just bring curiosity and your own journal or sketchbook. All other supplies are provided.
This is a great activity for anyone who enjoys creative expression and wants to slow down and experiment. Whether your child is interested in art, storytelling, or simply trying something new, this workshop welcomes all skill levels. The program is free to attend, making it an accessible way for families to explore collage journaling together at the Cultural Arts Center.
