Historical Miniatures Gaming at the Ohio History Center

Historical miniatures gaming event for strategy enthusiasts at Ohio History Center.

Historical Miniatures Gaming at the Ohio History Center invites families and history enthusiasts to experience tabletop war games focused on pivotal battles in Ohio's past. Participants take command of armies, make strategic decisions, and discover how historical battles unfolded—all while having fun exploring "what if" scenarios. Games begin at noon, and no prior experience is necessary. The July event features the Battle of Hubbardton from the Revolutionary War, while September's session covers the Battle of Lake Erie from the War of 1812. This activity is included with regular museum admission, so there's no extra cost beyond your entry fee. Kids and adults alike can participate, and the Historical Miniatures Gaming Society, Great Lakes Chapter, leads the sessions to help everyone understand the historical context. Events happen the first Sunday of each month (except August, when the Ohio State Fair takes a break). Whether your family loves history, strategy games, or learning about Ohio's role in American conflicts, this is a unique way to engage with the past.
