Flint Ridge Open House with ODNR
Free family day of hands-on activities and nature discovery at Flint Ridge.
Bring your family for a free day of hands-on learning at Flint Ridge! Starting at 11 a.m., you'll find interactive activities set up at the shelter house, led by staff from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. The Licking County Library's mobile library will also be on-site, featuring materials about archaeology, paleontology, and geology. Guided tours happen at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., where you'll learn about flint geology and discover how Indigenous peoples expertly crafted tools from this natural resource.
Plan to spend the afternoon exploring and discovering together. Since this is an outdoor event, dress your family in sturdy closed-toe shoes and bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and insect repellent to stay comfortable. There's no registration required—just show up and enjoy a day connecting with Ohio's natural and cultural history.
