First Friday Archaeology Tour
First Friday archaeology tour exploring ancient earthworks.
Join archaeologist Bill Kennedy from the Ohio History Connection for a guided exploration of Fort Ancient, one of Ohio's most impressive and well-preserved Hopewell earthworks. This tour walks you through both the museum's indoor exhibits and the outdoor grounds, sharing stories about the American Indians who inhabited and built at this remarkable site. You'll stop at several key locations to learn about pre-contact Native American history in the region.
The tour runs from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The first portion takes place indoors, followed by outdoor stops on level, comfortable surfaces. If walking long distances is challenging for your family, you can drive between the outdoor locations. In case of bad weather, the tour stays indoors. Admission is $7 for adults, $6 for seniors (60+) and children ages 6โ17, and free for children 5 and under or Ohio History Connection members. Please gather in the museum lobby near the gift shop at the start time.
